Facebook Sucks - Part Three

Anytime I get nice and comfortable and feel like everything is hunky dory on facebook, something reminds me that I HATE social networking.  I think I need a rubber band on my wrist to remind me that posting anything on facebook, no matter how vague, will always butt hurt someone.

Back to just blogging pictures of my cozy little family of five on Blogger.

Corbin's first "hands free long enough so mom can take a picture" sit up!

He has always been fascinated by this pink mouse attached to my laptop...so I unplugged it and gave it to him. I may need a new mouse soon...water damage looks definite.

The original Bumbo

Back in my day, we didn't have fancy Bumbo seats...we had laundry baskets.  And since I'm a traditional girl in so many ways...well, here you go, Corbin!  Your sisters used the OB too, and they turned out just fine.  (sort of)

sunburn

I have learned my lesson.  Do not let my children go to the beach, lake, or anywhere else that involves spending the day in the sun, without me.  It doesn't seem to matter how fanatically or explicitly I try to explain how fair Skylar is and how badly she needs sunblock on an hourly basis...she still ALWAYS comes back burnt.  How is it that we managed to go to Florida for a solid week and she didn't burn...but two days in Galveston without me and she's home sick with sunburn and blisters?  Oh, people don't listen to me.  Including Skylar.  She's old enough now to remember to put it on.  And old enough to think, "ooh, I'm getting red, I might want to sit under the umbrella for a while."  However; aside from the 12 year old not being responsible...I left her with an adult. Apparently I'M THE ONLY RESPONSIBLE ADULT ON THE PLANET!!!!!!  ugh...okay, a little melodramatic.  But you get how I feel, right?  okay.  good.

Her forehead, nose, and chin are blistering and her left eye is swollen.  :/
I've saturated her in raw coconut oil and honey.  Hence the shine. Poor baby.  :(

Lulu and Corbin

just a little brother and sister bonding time, first thing in the morning.  :)

<3

just a few of us...

We've had a very low key Labor Day weekend.  Dan is nine hours away, at camp, with his dad.  Skylar is at Galveston State Park, camping, with Athena.  We spent Saturday at Meme's house, swimming, sewing, and eating dinner.  Yesterday, Ally came over to spend the night with Lana.  They made mud pies and brownies (that looked too much like the real thing actually), watched movies, colored with chalk, and had dinner at Ihop.  It was there, that our faith in American choices declined once again.  If you want to order a FREE kid's meal, the kids are NOT allowed to order water.  WATER.  They had to order a soda in order for their meal to be free.  Are. You. Kidding. Me???  So we ordered them sprites.  The sprite was out of order.  so we ordered them Lemonade.  It was awful.  SO, I ordered myself a water and gave it to them.  Jeeeez, people.  And we wonder what is wrong with this country.  Anyways...I digress.  This morning we woke up and had rainbow pancakes, per Ally's request.  I apparently make them every time she spends the night.  I love that she remembers that about me.  After the sugary breakfast (after I just criticized Ihop) we have just spent the morning watching Littlest Pet Shop.  I think they're pooped.

Which reminds me, we need a new trampoline!  Anyone want to contribute to that fund??  I couldn't let them use it and they were both "bored out of their minds".

Of course, I didn't get any pictures of them having fun...we were too busy having fun!
